Arsene Wenger says that he “wouldn’t leave Spain’s technical style for dead” even though in Qatar counter-attacking teams have come out on top.
He think they will be successful again because “they have a great technical base”.
The FIFA director and former Arsenal manger explained his thoughts.
“Football is a technical sport. We have to keep developing technical quality. Spanish football is an example of collective intelligence.
“We speak of Messi whose main attribute is improvisation. I wouldn’t leave up Spain’s technical style for dead. In this tournament you need technical quality in different stages.
“We must be careful, we can’t write off the style, we have to improve aspects and Spanish football will return because they have a great technical base.”
