Bayern Munich won the quadruple with a 2-1 extra time win over Sevilla in Budapest on Thursday.

Ivan Rakitic played for the Andalusians on his second debut for them following his return from Barcelona, and won an early penalty, dispatched by Lucas Ocampos.

However Leon Goretzka equalised for Bayern after a nice pass from Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern dominated but needed Manuel Neuer to deny En-Neysri at the end of normal time.

Then substitute Javi Martinez headed home on the rebound after Bono spilled a shot to win it for Bayern.

"I always want to give 100 per cent for Bayern and I showed that today," said match-winner Martinez, who entered the field five minutes before scoring.

"Even if I only play 10 or 15 minutes, I try to help the team and I did that today with my goal. I’m really happy to win this trophy for a second time. I also scored in 2013 (against Chelsea), so it’s a great night."

Sevilla played well but in the end it wasn’t enough.

"First of all, congratulations to Bayern," Sevilla midfielder Rakitic told Sky Germany.

"It's disappointing but that's football. We saw tonight how important Neuer is for them. We had two great chances to go ahead but he stopped them. Then we gave away a silly corner and they scored.

"Nevertheless, we can be proud of how we played against the best team in Europe and we feel well prepared for the league season."

UEFA allowed 15,500 fans to attend the game as a test event.
