Vettel wins in Singapore as Hamilton fails to finish

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel won the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday at the Marina Bay circuit -- a track he has now won at four times.

It was a bad afternoon for World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton, though, who failed to finish the race.

Vettel was followed home by Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

"It must be one of my best races; it was pretty intense," Vettel said after clinching the win.

"There was a lot of pressure form behind, Daniel [Ricciardo] had a very good race looking after his tyres.

"But during the second stint I was dictating the pace and from then on, I was trying to control the gap -- we had a really great weekend."

Hamilton's Mecedes teammate Nico Rosberg finished fourth, but the Briton still maintains a 41 points lead at the top of the standings.
