Paco Alcacer hit two more goals to move to nine in five games for club and country as Spain thrashed Wales 4-1 in Cardiff.

Alcacer struck twice in the first 29 minutes with his cool finishes sandwiching a Sergio Ramos header, as Spain raced into a big lead.

Ethan Ampadu hit the post for Wales and Suso curled an effort against the crossbar for Luis Enrique’s Spain.

Marc Bartra headed home a fourth from a corner before Sam Vokes pulled one back for Ryan Giggs’s Wales in the final stages.

No Barcelona players started the game, although Borussia Dortmund forward Alcacer is on loan from the Catalan club.

Atletico Madrid’s Rodri started in place of Sergio Busquets in the middle, winning his third cap for his country.

Alcacer had not scored for Spain for 1,098 days, since October 2015 when he netted twice against Luxembourg.
