Kubo loaned to Real Mallorca by Real Madrid until June 2020

Former Barcelona youth midfielder Takefusa Kubo will play on loan at Real Mallorca from Real Madrid this season.

The 18-year-old Japanese international midfielder will gain experience with the newly promoted side.

"Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca have reached a deal for Takefusa Kubo to be loaned for this season, until June 30, 2020," read a Real Madrid statement.

Kubo played at Barcelona's academy between 2011 and 2015, but left for FC Tokyo when he was prohibited from playing because of the club’s punishment for signing underage players.

“I’m very excited and ready to play, although it’s not up to me (if it’s this Saturday against Real Sociedad),” said Kubo.
