The Julen Lopetegui era at Real Madrid gets underway on Monday and he'll need to do it without Cristiano Ronaldo, who ended his nine year stay at Los Blancos last week. However, Vinicius Junior and the players who weren't involved at the World Cup will be present tomorrow.

The coach will take charge of training at 19:00 as the players will undergo medical tests tomorrow morning, as is commonplace on the first day of preseason.

Lopetegui with get to work with youngster Vinicius Junior, who will meet his new teammates for the first time since signing for Real Madrid.

FAMILiAR FACES

Lopetegui will also meet the Ukranian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin and Raul de Tomas, as well as other familiar faces that didn't play at the World Cup such as Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.

The players who spent last season on loan, Martin Odegaard and Fede Valverde for example, will also return to Madrid tomorrow. It remains unclear whether unwanted full back Fabio Coentrao will be there. Coentrao's contract expires at the end of the upcoming season after spending last year with Sporting Clube de Portugal.

In total, Lopetegui will have 22 players to call upon. From the first team squad there is: Vinicius, Lunin, De Tomás, Bale, Benzema, Borja Mayoral, Kiko Casilla, Luca Zidane, Theo Hernández, Jesús Vallejo, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente.

Lopetegui has included seven players from Real Madrid Castilla: Manu Hernando, Javi Sánchez, Reguilón, José León, Álex Martín, Luizmi Quezada and Óscar. From the academy, Sergio López has also been called up.

Real Madrid will start the first phase of work at the Valdebebas Ciudad Deportiva and later, on the 28th July, they'll incorporate those involved at the World Cup before travelling to the United States for their preseason tour.
