Mateo Kovacic remains 'at war' with Real Madrid, however he did return to training this Tuesday morning at the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas. The situation has cooled in the last few hours after Madrid accepted that Kovacic wants to leave the club this summer in order to get regular playing time.
Kovacic was willing to go on strike in order to force through a move. Yet it appears the Croatian's prayers have been answered as Real Madrid are now negotiating a loan deal which will see Kovacic leave on a short-term deal. This way the player gets regular playing time but Madrid don't lose one of their prospects to take over from Luka Modric.
