Real Madrid have confirmed an injury to Sergio Ramos, who will miss this weekend's trip to Celta Vigo in La Liga (Sunday, 20.45h).
A statement said: "Following tests carried out on Sergio Ramos by the Sanitas Real Madid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the soleus of his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
It's a setback for Zinedine Zidane who had reserved Ramos, along with other regulars, for the midweek Copa del Rey win (3-0) at Numancia.
Madrid play Celta on Sunday, then welcome Numancia to the Bernabeu on Jan. 10 for the second leg of their round-of-16 tie.
On Jan. 13, Zidane's side welcome Villarreal to the Bernabeu in La Liga, before the Copa del Rey quarterfinals take place the following midweek.
