Karim Benzema scored twice as Real Madrid eased past Huesca 4-1 on Saturday to return to the top of La Liga.

Madrid followed up last weekend's win over Barcelona with another impressive performance at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium to make it 16 points from seven games this season.

Eden Hazard and Federico Valverde were also on target for Madrid, while Huesca replied through David Ferreiro in the second half.

Huesca started brightly, with Raf Mir a threat, but Madrid took the lead through a stunner from Hazard, who was making his first start of the season.

The former Chelsea man spun in midfield and unleashed an unstoppable pile driver from 20 yards to open the scoring. It was his first goal for Madrid in other a year.

Benzema doubled Madrid's lead before the break, controlling a Lucas Vazquez cross at the far post and rifling home.

Madrid killed the game off early in the second half when Valverde made it 3-0.

Huesca pulled one back with 15 minutes to play through Ferreiro but Madrid restored their three-goal lead late on through Benzema's second of the afternoon.
