Cristiano Ronaldo scored a stunning bicycle kick as Real Madrid beat Juventus 3-0 in Turin to edge towards another Champions League semifinal.

Ronaldo opened the scoring for the European champions in the third minute in Italy after good work from Isco but saved his masterpiece for the second half.

After Lucas Vazquez’s shot was saved, Dani Carvajal crossed the ball back into the box and Ronaldo seemed to hang in the air for ever before executing a brilliant acrobatic kick to send the ball back past the stagnant Gianluigi Buffon.

So good was Ronaldo’s goal that it even brought a standing ovation from the home supporters.

Paulo Dybala was then sent off as Juve crumbled in the rain, evoking memories of last season’s final, which Madrid won 4-1 in Cardiff.

There was still time for a third goal, too, with Marcelo latching onto Ronaldo’s pass, rounding Buffon and slotting home.

Buffon did deny Ronaldo hat-trick, saving late on from the Portugal forward, but Juve did little to stop Madrid’s charge towards a third consecutive Champions League trophy.

The second leg is to come next week at the Santiago Bernabeu but even the most die-hard Juve fan will struggle to get excited for that one.
