Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez have three cases to deal with in the summer: three players that aren't starting regularly and are not ready to stay if things don't change.
The three in question are Isco Alarcón, Álvaro Morata and James Rodriguez, three international whose careers have been put on ice this season at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Some Madrid media, such as 'OK Diario' and 'El Chiringuito', even suggest they will offer the club an ultimatium: 'either we start of we go'.
Madrid won't close the door on them leaving because Zidane doesn't consider them essential. However, they will still want decent sized offers to consider sales.
For example, James, who is sought-after, cost 80 million euros and will not be flogged on the cheap.
Meanwhile, Isco and Morata want to win back starring roles in Julen Lopetegui's Spain side ahead of Russia 2018.
