Gareth Bale refuses to be used as a makeweight in a swap deal for Neymar

Real Madrid's attempts to sign Neymar have run into serious complications because none of their players want to be included in the swap deal. Luka Modric was the first to turn down a move to Paris and the latest to follow the Croatian's lead is none other than Gareth Bale. The forward, who has been linked with transfers away all summer, is even threatening to take legal action against the club if they try to force him to move.

One of Madrid's offers was €100m plus Bale and James. Neither player is part of Zidane's plans next season and Madrid are looking to offload them at any cost. Whilst James was open to the prospect of a move to Paris, Bale immediately turned it down.

Bale feels the way he's been treated is grossly unfair and is open to taking legal action should it continue. If Bale doesn't move the other way, it complicates Madrid's move for Neymar as his wages would be used to finance the Brazilian's lofty salary.
