The audios leaked by 'El Confidencial' on Tuesday in which Florentino Pérez, in 2006, harshly discredited Real Madrid legends Iker Casillas and Raúl González, have additional parts.

In the second part revealed by the same outlet, the current Real Madrid president, who was also president at the time of the second recording in 2008, harshly criticises the then-Real Madrid captain, Iker Casillas. He would sell the player years later after multiple clashes with coach José Mourinho.

"Casillas, the poor bloke, he isn't the sharpist. I know him perfectly by now. He's not the brightest and you can tell when things haven't been going so well with his girlfriend, he's [mentally] absent. He's like a little boy, a lapdog, a puppet, like a child". These were the words of Florentino Pérez regarding the current executive vice-president of the Real Madrid Foundation.

"But this girl, I don't trust her at all. This girl, these girls, you know what they're looking for. They go crazy for fame. This girl [Casillas' girlfriend] thinks that she's a film star", he added on the goalkeeper's relationship with Sara Carbonero. "Casillas isn't tall enough, he doesn't see well enough. For the Clásico match when we were battling for the league title against Barcelona, he arrived late because he had been arguing with his girlfriend".

Following the reports that have emerged in the last few hours, Real Madrid and Florentino Pérez have released an official statement to justify the president's words, suggesting that the audio was leaked because of Pérez's involvement in the plans for the European Super League.

The official statement read as follows: "They are isolated quotes that were part of conversations and have been taken out of the wider context in which they were made. I understand that the fact that they have been published now, so many years on from the time the conversations took place, owes to my involvement as one of the driving forces behind the Super League".

Pérez ended the statement by saying that he has "placed the matter in the hands of my lawyers, who are examining the course of action to be taken".
