Chelsea have signed a replacement for the hapless Kepa Arrizabalaga in Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The Blues shelled out around 20 million euros for the Senegal stopper, 28, because of the Spaniard’s bad form. Kepa cost 71 million pounds and is the club record signing.
"I'm so excited to be joining Chelsea," said Mendy. "It's a dream for me to be a part of this exciting squad."
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: "As soon as Petr Cech and our technical team identified Edouard as the most suitable goalkeeper to complement our existing group, there was only one player we wanted to bring in.
