Alexis Sánchez, agrees to 16 months in prison

Manchester United's Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez has reached a deal with the government, accepting 16 months in prison - although he will not go in - for defrauding the tax authorities in Spain by 1 million euros between 2012-13. He had hidden image rights money while playing at Barcelona.

Sanchez repaid the money, plus intrests, and admitted going through foreign companies to hide his image rights money from the government.

The forward, who declared through videoconference from London accepted eight months in prison for two different crimes against the tax authorities. He will not have to go in if he does not commit any other offences in the next two years.
