Real Madrid’s announcement that Julen Lopetegui would be their new coach has seen the Spain coach sacked from his role with the national team, a little over 48 hours before Spain play Portugal.
Following the bombshell, announced by the president of the RFEF, Luis Rubiales, they now need to find a new coach to take over the role for at least this duration of the World Cup.

Rubiales said: “There isn’t a candidate” at the moment but according to SPORT's sources, the name of Real Betis coach, Quique Setien, is one of their first options. The negotiations are underway and there could be announcement soon. Other names which are being considered include: Albert Celades, Michel and Quique Sanchez Flores.
