Barcelona continue their pursuit of Manchester City defender Eric Garcia and have increased their offer for the Spain international.

The Catalan club have raised their bid to 18 million euros including add ons, according to the journalist Fabrizio Romano, having had their previous offers knocked back.

City initially hoped for 30 million but with Garcia out of contract next summer Barça were adamant they were never going to pay that much.

Barca's first offer was worth around 10 million in total but they have gradually increased that in an attempt to get the deal done before the window closes.

Coach Ronald Koeman has expressed his desire for another centre-back to come in and Garcia, who left Camp Nou in 2017, is a long-term target of the club.
