Leonardo has had quite the start to life as PSG's director of football. He spent the summer looking to negotiate a transfer which would see Neymar abandon the club and kickstart a revolution of a squad which has failed to dominate in Europe as they do domestically.

Five senior members of the team are out of contract at the end of this season: Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa. Sergio Rico and Mauro Icardi are also on loan deals with no guarantees either will remain beyond the summer.

Perhaps the most concerning is Cavani's situation. He's the clubs record goalscorer and an idol amongst supporters. Contract talks have been put on hold for now and many see Icardi as a potential replacement for the Uruguayan striker.

Thiago Silva is one of the most recognisable names in the modern version of PSG. Despite being 34 now, Thomas Tuchel views the centre back as essential to the project but once again, talks haven't begun over extending his deal.

Meunier, Kurzawa and Choupo-Moting are all available for the right price in January.

Looking slightly further ahead and both Marco Verratti and Marquinhos are both yet to commit their long-term futures to PSG. The Italian's deal expires in 2021 and the Brazilian's in 2022. PSG believe they can tie them down to press contracts.
