Life can sometimes have stories as beautiful as the one about Cesc Fabregas' great grandmother. The coronavirus pandemic has caused more than 24,000 deaths in Spain but she does not rank among them. The 95-year-old, the oldest living person in the footballer's family, has recovered from the virus after testing positive recently.

The former Barcelona midfielder, now at Monaco, revealed the news on Instagram alongside a photograph of his "superheroine." He had announced on April 18 that she was among 70 percent of the people at her residency to test positive for coronavirus.

"95 years old and she overcame the coronavirus," Fabregas wrote. "Yesterday her tests came back negative. My great-grandmother is a superhero but nothing of this would be possible without all the help of the nurses and doctors that are helping all these people.

"All my respect to everyone of them for what they are doing day and night, a big thank you!!"
