David Villa scored the only goal of the game as Vissel Kobe picked up their first win of the season against Sagan Tosu.
Led by Villa and Andres Iniesta, Vissel Kobe secured their first three points of the season against Fernando Torres' side, who are coached by Spaniard Lluís Carreras.
Villa, who had already hit the woodwork in the first half, scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute of the JLeague game.
It was the former Barcelona and Valencia striker's first goal in Japan and came in front of 25,100 fans at Noevir Stadium.
