Two goals from Alvaro Morata earned Atletico Madrid a 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday and saw Diego Simeone’s side cut Barcelona’s lead at the top to seven points.
The forward netted twice in three first half minutes, heading in with a diving header after Diego Godin nodded a corner his way.
Then he headed Koke’s free-kick into the net from close range, leaving Geronimo Rulli no chance.
Koke was sent off after an hour but the visitors stayed solid at Anoeta and didn’t look like slipping up.
"We have to win all the games, we wanted to stay on the path we’ve been on recently," said Morata, on loan from Chelsea.
"We knew this could be a difficult game but we wanted to come here and win. They also played well, I thought we did well and we’re very happy.
