Real Madrid straight back in training after Levante win with Liverpool next

Real Madrid returned to training on Sunday after their handsome win over Levante with Wednesday night's trip to Anfield, where they will play Liverpool in their third Champions League match, in their minds.

Hours after returning from Valencia, the Madrid squad undertook a light training session at Valdebebas.

Those that had started at the Ciudad de Valencia took part in a session behind closed doors, while those that were substitutes were involved in a more intense session on the grass.

Monday will be an important day, though, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to assess the fitness of his players ahead of a key week.

The Italian boss is confident that for the trip to England he will be able to call on the services of vice-captain Sergio Ramos, who missed the Levante game with an injury.

Meanwhile, the French pair of Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema are almost certain to return.

Sami Khedira is also training well and improving physically every day after a muscle injury and his presence is also a welcome one ahead of Saturday's Clasico against Barcelona at the Bernabeu.
