Elche fail to take all three points, after 1-1 draw with Betis / | sport

Elche were held to 1-1 draw by Betis down on Sunday at Estadio Martínez Valero. Elche wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Getafe. Betis, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Levante. Following today's result, Elche are in 17th place, with 26 points from 29 matches, while Betis sit in 5th, with 46 points from 29.

Betis started the game well, thanks to Borja Iglesias giving Betis the lead, 14 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, as Pere Milla equalised for Elche, 36 minutes in and seeing the first half out 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-1.

For Elche, Victor Rodriguez and Emiliano Rigoni, came on for Tete Morente and Pere Milla. Betis brought on Juanmi, Loren Moron and Joaquin, to replace Borja Iglesias, William Carvalho and Aitor Ruibal.

There were bookings for Raul Guti from Elche, and William Carvalho, Victor Ruiz, Aitor Ruibal and Guido Rodriguez, for Betis.

Elche will next play Huesca away, with Betis facing Atletico Madrid at home.
