Former Athletic Club goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz has become Girona's first signing for next season after they were promoted to La Liga for the first time in their history.
The experiened stopper signs a two-year deal with the Catalan club and will be presented on Thursday at Montilivi after his contract expired at San Mames.
Iraizoz came through the academy at Athletic and went on to play for Eibar and Espanyol before returning to his first club.
After two spells with the Basque side, the second lasting 10 years, Iraizoz was not offered a new deal. At 36, the veteran goalkeeper had offers from Levante, Espanyol and Girona.
Finally he opted for Girona with the promise of first team football in the top flight once again.
