Pau Torres close to a Juventus switch

The Villarreal defender could be leaving La Liga in the summer

Juventus are very keen on Pau Torres and the deal is close to being finalised. The 26-year-old centre-back's contract with Villarreal ends in 2024 after the last renewal, in 2019, and in which a termination clause of 50 million euros was established.

Through all these years, there have been many teams that have been interested in the Villarreal defender, but Pau has amply demonstrated his love for the Yellow Submarine and stayed even rejecting multimillion euro offers, such as the one that Tottenham made to him two summers ago, which was around 55 million euros.

He prioritised playing in the Champions League with his home team and Villarreal reached the semi-finals of the competition, repeating the historic feat of the 2005-2006 season.

Way ahead of schedule

If an agreement with Juventus is reached, which after two very favourable meetings is close, it will be necessary to reach an agreement with Villarreal, who are aware of the importance of the offer and that this time they will not be able to keep him.

The next few days could be decisive in this regard and in the progress of negotiations. Apart from Juventus, other teams from the Calcia and especially the Premier League have shown their interest in Pau, but who is closer is the Vecchia Signora, who are third in the table and in Champions League places after the 15-point ban imposed on them was annulled last April.

In recent days there has been talk of the possibility of Bonucci, the legendary Juventus centre-back, joining Milan for 40 million euros.
