Robert Lewandowski has won FIFA’s ‘The Best’ award for 2020. The Bayern Munich striker won the treble last season - the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League, finishing top scorer in each of those tournaments.
The Polish forward beat Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the award, with those two the other shortlisted finalists.
In this way the Bayern attacker adds to the list of winners of the FIFA trophy created in 2016, won by Ronaldo (16, 17), Modric (18) and Messi (19).
Lewandowski wins it at the age of 32, after a successful career in Germany where he won eight titles, six with Bayern and two with Borussia Dortmund.
He has played 116 times for Poland, scoring 63 goals.
