Barcelona U19 coach Víctor Valdes spoke to the media on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Youth League game against Inter and used his appearance to show his disappointment towards the club regarding the use of the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

"The first day, when I saw how beautiful the stadium was, I was really excited," he said. "I thought that was going to be out stadium. Unfortunately, that's not the case, but I will keep fighting for it.

"The only involvement we've had was the opening game there against Ajax, a poor game which we lost. A lot was said about that friendly. It was like a Champions League final for some. The club haven't given us the fortune of training there before."

Barça say that Valdes' Juvenil A side can't train or play there regularly because it would have a negative effect on the grass. Even Barça B and the women's team, who do play there, don't train there.

Valdes also revealed that he will not be calling up any Barça B players for the UEFA Youth League this season -- a practice the club have previously done.

"I've decided not to call up B team players," he explained. "I'm a coach that opens doors within my team to try and maintain the bond between the players and the coaching staff.

"I can't see a positive in bringing them down from the B team for these games which are so important for the team. I'd be giving them a place that my players deserve."
