Edgardo Bauza has been dismissed from his position as manager of Argentine. The AFA communicated the decision on Monday, with Bauza leaving having taken charge of just eight matches.
Argentine are in a difficult spot in the qualification phase for the World Cup in Russia in 2018, fifth in the South American section after their recent 2-0 loss to Bolivia.
It was the AFA president Claudio Tapia, recently elected, who revealed the decision in an improvised press conference.
"We have communicated to Edgardo Bauza that he will no longer be in charge of the national team," Tapia said.
Bauza took over on Aug. 5, 2016, replacing former Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino, who quit on Jul. 5 having lost a second consecutive Copa America final to Chile.
