RFEF president Luis Rubiales is delighted with the success of the new Copa del Rey format.
"We had the clear feeling that we had to do something for lower league football and to give it a competition with a formula that revitalises it and fills it with surprises, good for some but not for others," said Rubiales.
"Above all, it lets all clubs dream, they see the chances of going far, like what's happened. Looking back, it's been a tremendous success. Spanish football has enjoyed this cup a lot and there's still the semis and final to go. This format is here to stay."
Granada face Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad play Mirandes in the two-legged semi-finals.
