Goals from Lautaro Martínez and Candreva breathed fresh life into Inter Milan's Champions League campaign as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 at the San Siro on Wednesday.

Inter were beaten by Barça last time out -- despite a brilliant first half showing -- and were held to a draw by Slavia Prague in their opening game. Defeat at home to Dortmund, therefore, would have left them six points off the top two with just three games to go.

However, they never looked like losing to the Germans once Martínez gave them an early lead. The Argentine missed a penalty to double his side's lead but the Serie A team were not made to pay.

Instead, they sealed the game late on when Candreva netted to move level on four points with a Dortmund side who . were missing Marco Reus and Paco Alcacer for the game.

The two sides meet again in Germany in two weeks. With Barça top on seven points, it could prove a key game in terms of deciding who gets out of this group and makes the knockout rounds.
