Real Madrid scored two late goals to earn a 2-2 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach and pick up their first point in the Champions League this season.

Marcus Thuram scored either side of half time to give the German side a two-goal lead at Borussia Park.

Gladbach could and should have scored more but were made to pay for missed chances as Madrid showed great fighting spirit to get back into the game late on.

Karime Benzema gave them life in the 87th minute when he turned home Casemiro's knockdown and it was then left to the Brazilian midfielder to claim the levelled.

Luka Modric's cross in the third minute of stoppage time was headed down by Sergio Ramos and Casemiro swept home.

Madrid remain bottom of Group B but with one point from their two games will still fancy their chances of progressing.

They face Inter Milan next, who have two points, the same as Gladbach, while Shakhtar Donetsk top the group with four points from their two matches.
