Roger Payró

Atletico Madrid eased to a 2-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow to seal their place in the Champions League last 16.

Joao Felix and Felipe got the goals, after Kieran Trippier missed a first minute penalty.

Diego Simeone’s side went through to Monday’s draw in second place on 10 points, six behind group winners Juventus, who finished on 16.

Felix slotted home from the penalty spot after 17 minutes when Rifat Zkhemaletdinov handled the ball in the area.

Felipe drive home a volley in the second half for his first goal for the Spanish club from Koke’s cross to secure the game.

Alvaro Morata had a goal disallowed for the Spanish side.

The win stopped Atletico from losing three straight European matches for the first time since 1984.
