Alphonso Davies missed Bayern Munich training on Wednesday as the German side stepped up preparations for Friday's Champions League quarterfinal against Barcelona.

Bayern played down Davies' absence as a "precaution" after he ended Tuesday's session with a minor adductor problem.

"'Phonzie' was in training on Tuesday and felt something afterward," coach Hansi Flick told Bild.

"His right adductor muscles are a little stiff. It's a safety precaution. We don't think his participation [on Friday] is at risk." Bayern are based in the Algarve ahead of Friday's game in Lisbon

The Canadian international, still just 19, has been one of the stars of the season and Bayern will hope he's fully fit for the game against Barcelona.

Bayern are already in Portugal, on the Algarve, where they are warming up for the game against Barça, which will take place in Lisbon.
