We have a winner of the European Golden Shoe for the 2019-20 season. Lazio striker Ciro Immobile will pocket the prize with, at least, 35 goals. He could yet score more as there is still one more game to go in Serie A.

Immobile succeeds Messi, who has won the Golden Shoe in each of the last three seasons and becomes the third Italian to win the award after Luca Toni (2006) and Francesco Totti (2007).

With 35 goals in 36 games, pending Napoli-Laziom Immobile leads Robert Lewandowski in the standings. The Bayern Munich striker scored 34 goals in 31 games. There was also an outside chance that Cristiano Ronaldo caught Immobile. The Juventus forward has scored 31 goals this season but he is not in the squad for this weekend's game against Roma.

Further back in the standings is RB Leipzig's Timo Werner (who has since signed for Chelsea) and Barça Lionel Messi. They scored 28 and 25 goals respectively.
