Bayern Munich have appointed Jupp Heynckes as their new coach, he told Kicker, saying he was taking the role "as an act of friendship" and for what he owes the club.
"It's not a new start but an act of friendship and I am only doing it because of what I owe the club," said Heynckes, 72, taking over after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked.
"I have good sensations that things can start working immediately," said the coach.
