An image uploaded to social media by Maxi Gomez has opened the door to all type of speculation and rumours. The Uruguayan forward, 22, has taken advantage of Celta Vigo's weekend off to visit Barcelona. And he's posted a photograph of his trip on Instagram.
Gomez published an image of the Sagrada Familia, which has fed the rumour mill just as Barça are looking to sign a new striker. However, the South American's profile doesn't seem to be the urgent solution the Catalans are seeking this month. Instead, he's a more long-term option as the club plan for life post Luis Suarez.
Barça are after an affordable striker with experience of the Spanish league and European football who can arrive on loan this month.
That's unlikely to be the case with Gomez, who has a big career ahead of him and is being followed by several European clubs. Celta want 50 million euros for him -- which is his release clause.
