This Wednesday Victor Valdes will begin his tenure as a coach at FC Barcelona. The new Juvenil A manager is expected to put his plans into action before the players arrive for preseason. They aren't expected in until the 29th of July.

Valdes is looking forward to the challenge. He's keen to input his own ideas whilst respecting the traditional values of La Masia. Keeping this in mind, Valdes has asked the club for an assistant from within the current La Masia set up. The favourite for that role is Quim Ramon, who spent last season as the assistant for the Infantil A side.

The other member of Valdes' team will be Alberto Encinas, who also spent last season as the third coach of the Juvenil A side. Jose Bermudez will continue as the goalkeeper coach.
