The day Leo Messi asked for Zinedine Zidane's shirt

The Argentine explained in an interview in 2006 that he doesn't usually ask

But after Barcelona won 3-0 at the Bernabeu in 2005, he made a special request

Lionel Messi is not an extrovert. He doesn't like being surrounded by people he doesn't trust, and nor is he interested in interacting with opponents much on the pitch. It's hard to imagine him asking for the shirt of a player at the end of a game.

Messi gave an interview to TyCSports in 2006, in which he said he had only ever done it on one occasion, in November 2005. The young Argentine played at the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time with Barcelona. At the end Leo asked Zinedine Zidane for his shirt, with the team winning 3-0 thanks to two goals from Ronaldinho.

Messi said: "I'm not one to ask for shirts, but I asked Zidane once. Now I changed with Gago when I played with him, but nothing else. If Argentine player askes to swap, I would, but unless someone asks me I am not one to ask."
