Lionel Messi will be joined by a large delegation from Barcelona for Monday's Ballon d'Or gala in Paris at the Theatre du Chatelet.

The Barça party will be led by president Josep Maria Bartomeu. Also traveling to the French capital are Javier Bordas (director), Oscar Grau (CEO), Guillermo Amor (institutional relations) and Eric Abidal (sporting director).

FOUR PLAYERS

As for players, as well as Messi, goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, midfielder Frenkie de Jong and forward Antoine Griezmann will also be present. They are expected to arrive in Paris around 16h.

The plan was for the plane to leave after training, which took place at 11h on Monday following Sunday's win over Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano -- Messi scored the winning goal.

Messi is set to win the Ballon d'Or for the sixth time, this time ahead of Virgil van Dijk. He will become the first player to win it six times, with Cristiano Ronaldo having won it on five occasions.
