FC Barcelona and Luis Suarez's legal team are still working on a deal to free up the Uruguayan striker to sign for another team this summer. However, both sides have yet to reach a compromise as Suarez is demanding the final year of his contract is paid in full.
Offers from elsewhere could help speed up the process but, as things stand, Suarez is expected to undergo PCR tests on Sunday with the rest of the Barça squad.
If Suarez tests positive on Sunday, he would then join up with his teammates to begin preseason training on Monday under new manager Ronald Koeman.
Barça know they must respect the player's right to join up with the squad and won't look to ban him from the training ground. Neither side wants the relationship to end on a sour note and a possible legal battle.
