Some good news as Coutinho saves Barcelona a few million euros

It's been a season to forget for Philippe Coutinho but he actually has some good news for Barça. Following the team's exit at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League semi final, it means they won't need to hand over any extra money to the English team this year.

If Barça had got through and went on to win the competition they would've needed to hand over a bonus payment of 5.23m euros. Now that isn't the case it's money that can be used to strengthen the squad which, ironically, might include replacing Coutinho.

However Liverpool won't care too much as they'll pocket around 15m euros for reaching the final and, if they beat Tottenham, more than 19m.
