Barcelona coach Quique Setien has held various meetings with the club to plan for next season with an eye on who could come in and who could leave.
The final decisions will lie with Eric Abidal and his team but they will count on Setien's opinion and expertise. One of the talking points is Philippe Coutinho and Setien has said it will be no problem if the Brazilian returns to Camp Nou. He feels he would be an interesting player to add to the squad.
In any case, though, the club's idea is still to move Coutinho on.
Setien believes the team need players that can play between the lines and have technical ability to create superiority. He sees Coutinho in Iniesta's role and believes he can absolutely succeed at the club, although he is happy to leave the final decision in the club's hands.
Coutinho earned a spot under Ernesto valverde, who always played him and gave him chances. He played in a number of positions, across attack and midfield, but never found his place. Last summer, he left on loan for Bayern Munich, who have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
