Sergio Ramos, sent off for a second yellow card, can play in league Clasico

The Real Madrid defender was dismissed against Girona

Sport EN

There was a lot of speculation over Sergio Ramos ahead of the Girona game. Was he going to get a yellow card on purpose - like against Ajax - to miss the clash with Levante and be clear to face Barcelona in La Liga? He came into the game with four yellows.

In the end, he didn't get them on purpose, but Ramos was booked twice, therefore being sent off. He saw the first yellow for a handball in the area which led to Girona getting a penalty, converted by Cristhian Stuani.

Then later in the game he kicked a Girona player with a high foot as he tried an overhead kick for his second yellow. Fair enough, off he went.

However it means he's banned because of the red card for the Levante match and can play in the Clasico - which he will start still on four yellow cards.
