Ronald Koeman's first rotations planned for Getafe game

The coach has maintained the same team so far but it's time to chop and change

Until now, Ronald Koeman has kept a fixed idea of what he wants, and was operating under the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' idea. However the run of games coming up fast means it's time to change. So far a group of 14 players have shared the minutes. In fact, the same XI has started the first three games, bar a forced change of Ronald Araujo for Clement Lenglet because of suspension.

The first game, against Villarreal, everything worked perfectly. Griezmann-Ansu-Messi was the attacking trio, De Jong-Busquets-Coutinho the midfield. The players had freedom.

However now rotations will begin, starting with the game against Getafe on Sunday. They have four games in 11 games. After Getafe comes Ferencvaros in the Champions League, and then Real Madrid in the Clasico at Camp Nou, 4pm on the Saturday. And that will then be followed by another high-octane clash, in Turin, as Messi faces Cristiano Ronaldo again - Juve v Barca.

A period of maximum tension and a test of fire for Koeman.

TIME TO PJANIC

Miralem Pjanic has 29 minutes under his belt so far but he is likely to get a lot more playing time from here on out. He will rotate in for Busquets, to keep the veteran fresh for when he's needed most.

Sergino Dest will also get minutes, having made his debut against Sevilla from the bench after just one training session. Trincao may well start ahead of Ansu or Griezmann, while Pedri has a chance of playing from the off too.
