Real Betis coach Joan Francesc Ferrer, Rubi, has been speaking about the possibility of signing Carles Aleña on loan from Barcelona in January.
Rubi did not want to give any names but he did confirm that the improving La Liga side would like to bring in a midfielder when the transfer window opens.
"My only priority at the moment are the three games to complete the first half of the season," he said when asked about possible signings. "For me, it's really important to finish well."
However, he added that "the club always has an eye on the transfer market and move for players if they can improve what we already have -- although it's not easy because we have a really good squad -- be that Carles Aleñá or other players."
Rubi, ahead of his return to former club Espanyol on Sunday, denied that he had contacted Aleña to convince him to accept Betis' offer, with Getafe also interested.
"From the start of the season we've recognised that (midfield) is a position we could improve but before any deal, the essential thing is that the player is convinced he can help us," he finished.
