PSG are convinced that Neymar will remain at the club this summer. In fact, they are now optimistic that they could even tie the Brazilian star down to a new contract. According to ‘Le Parisien’, the plan is to keep both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as the figureheads of the current project. The same media outlet claims Barça haven’t made any approach to PSG due to the financial crisis following a COVID-19 impacted season.

This means that PSG aren’t concerned about another long summer of transfer speculation. Tension between Neymar and the French club has eased in recent months. PSG want the Samba hero to sign a new contract which would extend his time at the club until 2024.

Neymar wants to see how the team does in the Champions League. After a few embarrassing episodes in recent years, there’s renewed optimism that this could be their season. Whilst other European leagues resumed in July, Ligue 1 was cancelled indefinitely once everything shutdown in France.
