Miralem Pjanic could still leave Barcelona in the coming weeks despite the transfer window closing in Spain, England and Italy this week, where he had offers.

Pjanic's agent is studying the other options to ensure his client does not spend another season without playing, keeping in mind he is not in coach Ronald Koeman's plans.

The alternatives to Europe's biggest leagues are in Turkey and Russia, where they are still allowed to sign players with contracts.

Pjanic wanted to return to Juventus because he still feels capable of playing at the top level. However, a return to his former club did not work out.

After that disappointment, the midfielder's desire is to play for a competitive side in a decent league, even if it's now away from one of Europe's traditional 'big five' leagues.
