Pep Guardiola wanted to sign Luis Suarez during his time as Bayern Munich manager. In his second season in charge of the Bundesliga giants, in 2014, Pep felt the Uruguayan striker would be the missing piece of the puzzle as he looked to win the Champions League.
During his time with Bayern, there were seven players Pep wanted but never ended up joining. This is all according to the book 'Inside FC Bayern' written by Christian Falk.
The seven names Pep tried to bring in at Bayern were Neymar, Luis Suárez, Pogba, Hazard, Verratti, De Bruyne and Sterling. Curiously he would end up working for the last two at Manchester City.
The failure to sign Suarez, amongst others, was one of the reasons Pep left Bayern after his third season in charge.
During Guardiola's reign at Bayern they won three Bundesliga titles, two German Cups but crucially no Champions League titles.
