Pep Guardiola: "Neymar is an extraordinary player but..."

The current Manchester City boss and Barça legend, Pep Guardiola, gave an interview to 'Ara' where he spoke about many topics including current events at his former club. One of those topics was none other than Neymar's rumoured return to FC Barcelona this summer.

"Neymar is an extraordinary player, but I don't know. It's the same as if I came back. Would it be the same? I'm not the same person now and I'm not sure if Neymar is either. But he's very good, nobody doubts that," concluded Pep.

Neymar would see Barça once again possess an attacking trident to be feared throughout Europe but the problems for the side, in the post-Pep era, began in the midfield under Luis Enrique. "They've probably dropped a little deeper than in our era. We were crazy and pushed everybody forward. In an attacking sense, they were equally as good and were ruthless on the counter. They added deeper counterattacks. Ours used to be shorter and from 30-40 metres out we were unstoppable. It's the same now. You see their squad and think: 'They have so many good players!'"
