Paulinho will take a pay cut to force through Barcelona transfer

The Brazilian midfielder values the sporting side of the game over money

He has already turned down big financial offers during his career

Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho hopes to become a Barcelona player this summer and has suggested he will do whatever it takes to make that happen in an interview with Fox Sports Asia.

Speaking about his future, the Brazil international said that he would even be prepared to take a pay cut to sign for Barça.

"Money is not a problem for me," Paulinho said. "In 2011, when I was at Corinthians, I rejected an offer from Russia worth 10 times what I was earning in Brazil."

Paulinho, a key part of Tite's Brazil side and Luiz Felipe Scolari's Guangzhou, added that he has not "come to China for money, so if Barcelona offer less then I am on now, I will accept all the same."

His motives for that are not a secret and he explained that the chance "to play in the Champions League with the biggest stars" such as Neymar, Leo Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta is too good to turn down.
